How To Watch HBO Max On A Vizio Smart TV
Okay, so the most obvious way to get HBO Max on your Vizio Smart TV is using the functions on the app selections. If your Vizio Smart TV model is 2016 or younger, you should be able to search through the available streaming apps, otherwise known as library of titles and find HBO Max.
If that’s available to you, you’ll need to sign up to use HBO Max’s services. After signing up and following the instructions such as dealing with a verification email, you’ll need to input your chosen payment method and after verification, you should be good to go!
If your Vizio Smart TV is older than 2016 though, you might be stuck for ideas. Luckily though, there is help at hand for this!

Casting Onto Your Vizio Smart TV
Most Vizio Smart TV’s have the capability to receive casting onto them, but not all of them do. Check first to see if your television is compatible.
There are two main ways to cast. One is Google cast and the other is through Apple Airplay. We’re going to look at both of these methods in closer detail.
Apple Airplay Casting
This might sound obvious, but at the risk of confusing anybody – remember to sign up for HBO Max first before you go any further.
If you have an Apple device that has the capability of the latest iOS software, you should be able to view the shows you want to watch through the HBO Max app and then cast it via Apple Airplay to your Vizio Smart TV.
All you’ll need to do is to sign in to the app (which you can find on the Apple App Store) and ensure that your chosen Apple device is connected to the same Wi-Fi Network as your Vizio Smart TV.
After you’ve confirmed this, click on the show you want to watch. Once this starts to play, you’ll notice a small TV symbol in the top right-hand corner.
Click this cast symbol, and you might notice your device goes black and your Vizio Smart TV screen starts to play the content which was on your Apple device!
Ensure that you have your Smart TV turned on first of course!
If you are having trouble with this, it’s a good idea to turn your Smart TV off and then on again. This should reset the app and solve any potential problems you were having.
Ensure that all of your devices have updated firmware and updated software. You can do this by checking settings and then general – then look for software update.
If the problem persists, switch both devices off and on and check the Wi-Fi connections are both connected to the same network. Consider resetting your Wi-Fi source and if the issue still persists, your Smart TV might not be compatible.
Google Casting
Google products, or Android products are the other option when it comes to casting. The way to cast HBO Max via a Google device is pretty similar to an Apple device.
Ensure you’ve signed up for HBO Max and then download the app on your Google device. Sign in using your correct HBO credentials and click on the show you’re hoping to watch.
Assuming your Google device is connected to the same Wi-Fi Network as your Vizio Smart TV, you should be able to click on the little TV symbol in the top right-hand corner and, as with the Apple Airplay method, your screen might go black.
At which point, the show you were hoping to watch has appeared on your television screen!
Again though, if you are experiencing troubles here – reset all of your devices and your Wi-Fi source. Check compatibility for your devices and always ensure that every device is upgraded to the correct firmware and software.
Is It All Worth It?
HBO Max subscribers can now get access to even more shows. For the kids, they can access Sesame Street and for the comic book crusaders among you – Warner Bros. shows are now available, which means all of your most favorite DC shows!
This means Zack Snyder’s Justice League and top series like Gotham or Flash are available right in your living room!
